Drs. Akst and Batos are honored by your call for an appointment
We are dedicated to delivering quality periodontal care in a personal and caring manner. Periodontal disease is present in epidemic proportions and often presents no symptoms until the destructive infectious process is advanced. Our commitment to health includes concern for the health of the gums and bone supporting your teeth. A beautiful smile is accessible and deserved by everyone.

Benefits of a healthy mouth
Too often we take things for granted until we no longer have them. Your teeth may fit into this category. Healthy gums lead to healthy teeth which lead to healthy you! All three ingredients are interrelated and cannot exist by themselves.

A healthy mouth means...
-Retaining a youthful appearance and smile.
-Maintaining our facial support.
-Eliminating bad breath.
-Being free of infection and disease.
-Increasing sex appeal and attractiveness.
-Helping us to enjoy body fitness.

Convenience
The Periodontal Health Center (P.H.C.) is conveniently located between I-90 and Route 2 in Willoughby. Convenient to all of Lake County, the office is also easily accessible to all eastern suburbs, 15 minutes from Cedar Road and I-271. Plenty of parking is available.

Time
Your time is valuable! You are seen at your scheduled time and appointments are arranged to minimize the number of visits necessary to complete treatment. We offer early morning appointments and most visits can be arranged to minimize your time away from work.

We cater to cowards
To preserve your oral health, dental treatment is a necessity. Your comfort is of utmost importance to us. We use a multitude of techniques to provide treatment in a painless and caring manner. We are always available to discuss your individual needs so that your care will be appropriately designed for you.

Our motto? All gain, no pain.
Our goal is to control and arrest periodontal problems through a non-surgical conservative approach whenever possible. Non-surgical care causes little, if any, discomfort and minimal disruption to your daily schedule. Surgical treatment may be necessary, but it is only done when other types of treatment are not successful in controlling your disease. Surgical treatment is a last resort, certainly better than losing one's teeth. Surgery, if necessary, is performed using local anesthesia and sedation. You will always be made comfortable during and after treatment. Modern pain relievers make the post-operative period very tolerable.

Commitment to excellence
Drs. Akst and Batos are on the faculty of Case Western Reserve University and The Cleveland Clinic, and are constantly updating their knowledge to provide you with modern advances in treatment. The staff consists of highly trained and compassionate health care professionals.

Availability
The Periodontal Health Center is always ready to serve you, 24 hours a day. When the office is closed, Dr. Akst or Dr. Batos can be reached at home or through their medical answering service. We can always be reached for emergencies. During office hours, any emergency is scheduled immediately to relieve you of any discomfort.
