Drs. Akst and Batos achieved their specialty certification in periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. They are both actively involved in teaching and frequently lecture on esthetic and cosmetic periodontal procedures. They practice exclusively in the field of periodontics and dental implants, providing exceptional care that represents state of the art therapy.

Dr. Hymie Akst

Dr. Hymie Akst is a graduate of McGill University and completed his dental training at Case Western Reserve University. He received his periodontal certification from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Akst continues his commitment to excellence in dentistry as Senior Clinical Instructor at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society and Ohio Academy of Periodontists. He founded and was President of the Cleveland Society of Periodontists. Dr. Akst has published articles and received numerous honors and awards throughout his career. He is a popular lecturer at the local, state and national level for general dentists, periodontists and hygienists.

Memberships include: American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, American College of Oral Implantology, Ohio Academy of Periodontology, Greater Cleveland Dental Society, American College of Dentists and the North East Ohio Dental Society.

Dr. Ivy Batos

Dr. Ivy Batos received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University. She received her Dental Degree and Specialty Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Batos is a frequent lecturer at Case Western Reserve University and Lakeland Community College Department of Dental Hygiene. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University teaching in the Department of Periodontics, she lectures on contemporary diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease. Special interests include oral medicine and its relationship to women's health. Dr. Batos received a special achievement award in Periodontics and Prosthetic Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania and was published in the Penn Dental Journal.

Memberships include: American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Greater Cleveland Dental Society, Cleveland Society of Periodontists, The Ohio Dental Association, North East Ohio Society and The Academy of Osseointergration.
